LENTEN MESSAGE
TAKING THE NAME OF GOD IN VAIN
The Holy Bible says, “Not everyone who calls me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants them to do.”  (Matthew 7:21)

During various public outreaches, our ministry comes across parents who after tasting the goodness of the Lord, wish to dedicate their children in the Lord’s service.  They come with much enthusiasm pulling the child, detailing his/ her attitudes and wish that the child will see the heights of progress in this world. As long as God’s plan aligns to that of the parents; everything goes smooth. But when His plans vary; it becomes unacceptable to them. The same hands that dedicated the young ones, snatch them from the ministry. If at all God increases the speed of the wind; and the waves enter the ship, these parents will act immediately as the lifeboats to save their children from the service of God, forgetting their commitment.

Taking the name of the supreme God and promising Him is a common act that is carried out casually without realizing the consequences. The Sovereign God through His holy commandment warns, “Do not use My name for evil purposes; for I the Lord your God will punish anyone who misuses My Name.” (Exodus 20:7)
Do you know truly the God whose name you utter so often in vain? In a Holy vision the prophet Isaiah describes the Lord whom He saw, “I saw the Lord. He was sitting on His throne, high and exalted, and His robe filled the Temple. Round Him flaming creatures were standing, each had six wings.  Each creature covered its face with two wings, and its body with two, and used the other two for flying.  They were calling out to each other: ‘Holy! Holy! Holy! The Lord Almighty is holy!  His glory fills the world.’  The sound of their voices made the foundation of the Temple shake, and the Temple itself was filled with smoke.”  (Isaiah 6) The height of your ignorance makes you blind and deaf towards the truth and existence of God. Those habits that once began casually, becomes the part and parcel of Your daily life; leading you to absurd character. The power of the world is continuously striving and becoming successful in its efforts to keep you busy and exhausted with no time to worship and honour the Lord and ultimately skipping it. To gain wisdom in abundance, one must practice the Lord’s law. It educates us about the qualities of loyalty and humility which are essential to have reverence to God and brings fortune and success to those who respect God. During the Sermon on the Mount, Lord Jesus explained to the crowd the meaning of the Holy Law and its importance. During that discourse He reminded them, “...do not use any vow when you make a promise. Don’t swear by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by earth, for it is the resting place for His feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is city of the great King. Do not even swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black.” (Matthew 5:33-36)

Let us not arrogantly, brush off this advice thinking, “Nothing happened so far; in spite of me doing this from ages. It is not just me but many others too who do this..” The important matter is that this practice is disrespectful to your Holy God and it brings disgrace to Him and to you all the while you are unaware of its consequences. In God’s sight it is evil and dishonorable when people say, “I swear by God’s name........’ or ‘I take oath in God’s name that......’” for the Holy Bible instructs, “Just say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ –anything else you say comes from the evil one.” (Matthew 5:37) Our Lord Jesus clarifies that these actions are a clear trap set by the devil to trick you into disobeying your Lord. You may not be aware of the serious plans the evil one has to defame the Creator using His own creation. Such matters though minute have a great effect on spirituality and robs you off your blessings.

I had been invited to meet a group- that comprised of all ages and majority of the host were Christians. Bringing me to attentiveness about the people around, I was embarrassed to realize how many times casually the name of ‘Jesus’ popped up in their conversations.  Discussions began or ended with ‘O My God…. O Lord I am sorry….. I swear by God…….. I promise you Lord…… In Jesus Name I do…..etc, etc.’ Not an irony but I observed that anxiety, worries, mistrust, pride, confusion, miscommunication overspread there quickly. When your heart is not aware what your lips say or if your brain is naive to what the hands does; its a sign that you are under the control of other forces. As days pass these hearts slowly hardens against the mercy and wonder works of God and dependence on God also vanishes.

I take this opportunity to remind you that misusing the Name of God is against His commandments. Let us not harden our hearts by disrespecting, misusing or abusing the Most Holy and adorable Name of our God, during this short pilgrim journey. Refrain soon from these unholy practices that can steal your faith and fear of God, instead try to live a penitent life.
The Sovereign Lord, through the Book of Deuteronomy, says to us, “When you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not put off doing what you promised, the Lord will hold you to your vow and it is a sin not to keep it.”  (Chapter 23 : 21)
Various acts of your daily life can imprison you to disobedience of God. Remember that God has not asked you to take His Name in promise; but it is your human nature that has trapped you. When intentions are not favourable to fulfilling what you have promised; these will lead to harder situations. Dear ones, examine yourself, pray to the Holy Spirit, your constant Helper to be with you in times of distress; patiently and constantly communicate your desires with the Blessed Trinity. May be it is God’s will to blossom you into a good intercessor for many than fade away making unfulfilled promises; He may have found you worthy to be obedient to Him in your suffering  for the salvation of you, your family and neighbours. It would be His wish that you practice forgiveness and offer a good consoling smile to your enemies. Our God is a provider, who would not hold back from fulfilling your needs; let us learn to imitate Him. Think twice, thrice or ample numbers of times before you make a promise to God. Be wise enough to crush and squeeze the plan of the wicked, cruel devil. Keep up the dignity of your Sovereign Lord. May the Almighty and Living God of KLWC grant you the grace to fulfil your pending promises as early as possible; to gain freedom from the Lord’s punishment. I aspire you to spend time in reading the Holy Bible loudly in your room /home as a penance of delayed vows. Certain debts and delayed issues can be cleared by this penance.

O Most Sovereign Lord our God, May your glorious holy name be held in most honour and highest reverence forever and ever.
May Your Name be honoured and worshiped in the dome of the heavens.
May Your splendour brighten the whole earth.
May Your honour and praises fill the presence in our families. Amen.

May the Lord bless you and take care of you. May He be kind and gracious to you. May the Lord look on you with favour and give you peace.

With love filled blessings,

Your Sister in Christ

A NEW NAME

PART II

My dear friend, I pray that everything may go well with you and you may be in good health --
as I know you are well in spirit. (3 John : 2)

Click here for the earlier part.

When God stretches His hands to bless you, your family too will attain His grace and be blessed through you.

As the Holy Bible says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved- you and your family.” (Acts 16:31)

When Abraham believed in God’s covenant; his family too was blessed.

Similarly, when Jacob was staying with his father-in-law, the Almighty God blessed Laban and all that he had in abundance.
When Jacob was ready to leave his house, Laban said to him, “Let me say this: I have learnt by divination that the Lord has blessed me because of you.” (Genesis 30:27)
Laban was amazed to see the miraculous prosperity he achieved through Jacob.

Are you lamenting? Is poverty rampant in your family? Are you in bed of tears due to sickness? Are you broken hearted?

Do not lose hope, the Lord who blessed Laban for the sake of Jacob, will surely bless your family for your sake.

Dear young children, always remember that you can be the source of your family’s prosperity. Do regularly ask the Lor d to place His hands upon you, and enjoy the bountiful blessings that will flow into you and submerge your family members too.

It is a noble act to receive blessings from your parents too; dear parents, make it a practice to lay your hands upon your children while blessing them; couples in the family too can lay their hands and bless one another. This small but dignified act will surround your family with the Supreme Love and unity of God and aid you to experience the peace of God. Almighty Lord will bless parents, to be proud of your children, while they learn to remain in love and loyalty to you.

As you experience the hand of God over you, His blessing will follow and reflect in your daily life. Be it the people around you or the workplace. Your superiors will be blessed, as God brings prosperity to your work.

Let us reach out to the Holy Bible where it mentions about a young man Joseph, whose brothers had plotted against him and had him thrown into a dry well to die. Joseph was pious and he loved God dearly and faithfully. The Lord in turn blessed him and he prospered in all that he did. God blessed the Egyptians for the sake of his servant Joseph.

As mentioned earlier, there was a stage in my life when I had to sacrifice my family, my home and everything I possessed in this life in the light of the Holy Gospel.

All those brothers and sisters, who helped me sincerely during those days, have been and still being blessed abundantly by Lord. Broken families were rejoined, sick with good health; those who were jobless were blessed with good jobs and are in high positions today. Peace and joy were showered immeasurably.

Dear devotees, I can assure you that the Lord who blessed those who sheltered God’s chosen daughter, will surely bless, sanctify and uphold your family.

God who blessed whole of Egypt through a slave, will surely bless your place of work and all your colleagues.

Almighty God who blessed Laban through Jacob, will surely prosper you and your family members.

With the Divine Hands upon you, no curses will touch you. The fear of curses from your ancestors will vanish in his Precious Blood.

Once the Israelites camped in the plain Moab and Balak the King of Moab was terribly afraid of those people. He sent his people to Baalam the prophet to curse the Israelites. Balaam was confused and looked at the Lord. The Lord said Balaam “Do not go with these men and do not put a curse on the people of Israel, because they have my blessing” (Numbers 22:12)

Again the king took Balaam to another place to curse the Israelites once again Balaam looked at Lord and after receiving the command of God he said “I have been instructed to bless, and when God blesses I cannot call it back”. “I  forsee that Israel’s future will bring her no misfortune or trouble the Lord their God is with them”. (Numbers 23:20-21).

Yes if you are under the blessing of God and give due reverence, no curse or evil can afflict you and also your ancestors debts will also be cleared through your blessings.

Let us pray
Jesus, King of the family, sent your Holy Spirit upon each family of this world to bring peace and forgiveness among us to eradicate the brokenness and weakness of  our soul, mind and body, bondage of hereditary curses, debts and illness especially psychological disorders.

Mother Mary Queen of the Family, send your holy legion that under your command and by your power, they may pursue the evil spirit, resist their bold attacks and drive them into the abyss of eternal home. Amen!

A LIFE IN THE LIGHT

PART I

The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has never put it out. (John 1:5)

Our life gets completely transformed in a twinkle of a moment when the power of the Lord dispels darkness around our life to flood it with His divine light.

“We know that we belong to God even though the whole world is under the rule of the evil one.” (1 John 5:19)

The devil, our adversary, is always standing against us prowling like a roaring lion; so it is very essential that we should completely put our refuge on Lord Jesus so as to walk in His light constantly.  Our life within Him will be a path that leads us to our salvation.

Here we mention certain incidences on how darkness enters people.

On a Sabbath Day Jesus went into a Synagogue, where He saw a man whose right hand was paralyzed.  Some teachers of the Law and Pharisees wanted a reason to accuse Jesus of doing wrong so they watched him closely to see if He would heal on the Sabbath. Jesus knew their thoughts and said to the man, “Stand up and come here to the front.” The man got up and stood there.  Then Jesus said to them “I ask you: What does our Law allow us to do on the Sabbath? To help or to harm?  To save a man’s life or destroy it?” He looked around at them all; then He said to the man “Stretch out your hand” he did so and his hand became well again.

They were filled with rage and began to discuss among themselves what they could do to Jesus. (Luke 6:6-11)

The above holy verses from the Scriptures indicate how the Pharisees and the Teachers of the Law emit out the enmity and jealousy, a reflection of the darkness that had captured them; and their futile attempts to put off the source of Light of Life i.e. Jesus Christ.

If we sincerely and with true devotion read or listen to the Word of God, He graciously endows us with His power and presence which conveys the Heavenly Light to shine bright in our surroundings.

The Word of God, when studied with sincere veneration and dedication will fill us with the discernment to distinguish amid the false and deceptive teachings. Being the Source of Life, it penetrates deep into our hearts imparting True Knowledge of our Lord. It was this knowledge that made the Pharisees insecure and jealous towards Christ.

Even today, there are many among us who spread false teachings combined with wrong principles and theories, misleading people from the message of Salvation, thus preventing them from attaining further spiritual growth, blessings and the fruits of Salvation. Ultimately, those in search of faith, fall into such traps due to their lack of knowledge in the True Word of God.

Jesus summed up the traps set up by such people, when He said, “How wrong you are it is because you don’t know the scripture of God’s power.” (Mathew 22: 29)

Engulfed in such dark theories would further pave the way for imbalance and procrastination of spiritual duties leading to diminishing the presence of God and His illumination.

Regular studying and meditating of the Word of God will enhance your mind with Divine Knowledge and light, keeping you away from the trap of wrong teachings and ideas.

During my public mission, there would be a flow of prayer requests and thanksgivings of people who would share their joy of blessings received. Amidst this overwhelming joy, there would be few comments and instructions that were against my teachings.  Deep in my heart, the contentment from the fact that God was pleased with me did not shake me. But as the frequency of those false accusations increased, my peace and health began bothering and soon some disturbance also crept into my prayer life. Soon the devil began to slowly try his chance on me, with sickness and unnecessary worries. But through the Work of the Holy Spirit, I kept aside a day of Fast and Prayer dedicated to those who were not in the favor of KLWC. Lord God comforted me, “My dear daughter why are you worrying and thinking about those who are against you.”

He poured out His Holy Spirit and made me realize that those who were scandalizing me were not from God but it was the work of the devil in disguise. Once again tranquility filled my ached heart, while the healing from the Lord departed all the aches and pains. Alleluia!! Alleluia!!
I cried out to the Lord in pardon while He in response delivered me and showered His blessings upon me!

When you begin to lose the presence of God, physical illness like fatigue, weariness, guilt begins to creep into your life burdening you further with serious health issues.

COMMEMORATION OF THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED
“I am the Resurrection and the Life, whoever believes in Me will live.” (John 11: 25)

During some months ago, at the onset of my dawn worship around 4 am, the usual calm and peaceful surroundings was replaced by bitter cries. All I could hear was a girl’s loud moans. It echoed, “Papa, Papa.” Sometime later, news spread that her dad had died due to massive heart attack at their home. She was their only child born after nine long years.

The demise of a beloved one is always bitter and heart breaking.

When his son Absalom died, David moaned deeply, “O my son! My son Absalom! Absalom, my son! If only I had died in your place, my son! Absalom, my son!” (2 Samuel 18:33).

Again when his friend, Jonathan died David wept saying “I grieve for you my brother Jonathan; how dear you were to me! How wonderful was your love for me, better even than the love of woman.”  (2 Samuel 1:26)

It is factual that we can no more see the face or experience the love of those who have left us. The very thought transports anguish and helplessness to us who are left behind.

At the same time one can neither prevent nor delay death which makes it all the more bitter.

For the Holy Bible says, “No one can keep himself from dying or put off the day of his death.  That is a battle we cannot escape; we cannot cheat our way out.”  (Eccl.. 8:8)

King David while conversing about death was not very sure where he would go after death. So he described it as the valley of deepest darkness.  Before the death of Christ Jesus, people had no clear picture of death and resurrection so they talked about it with bitterness.

“In His life on earth Jesus made His prayers and requests with loud cries and tears to God, who could save Him from death.”  (Hebrews 5:7)

Many times Lord Jesus told His disciples about His death.
“The sorrow in my heart is so great that it almost crushes me.”
(Matthew 26:38)

Lord Jesus moved with compassionate heart to those who were broken and desperate because He Himself was a victim of sorrows and rejection.  He gained courage and grace to overcome it through His fervent cries to His Father in Heaven.

Even before His death on the Cross, Lord Jesus told His disciples, “For I tell you that the Scripture which says, ‘He shared the fate of criminals’, must come true about Me, because what was written about Me is coming true.”  (Luke 22:37)

He bore His sufferings patiently and might have reported to the Father that He had finished experiencing death on the cross as well.  So Lord Jesus told His Father, “Father I have fulfilled all that You commanded me to do on earth even the last – the death on the cross.”

By raising His friend Lazarus from the dead, Jesus demonstrated to the world that God has given Him the authority to raise the dead and through that the people on earth may not have the wrong belief that their lives ends with death.

The Holy Bible says, “Listen to this secret truth: we shall not all die, but when the last trumpet sounds, we shall all be changed in an instant as quickly as the blinking of an eye.  For when the trumpet sounds the dead will be raised, never to die again and we shall all be changed.”  (1 Cor. 15 : 51-52)

From the above said holy verses we might know the truth about what will happen at the end of the world.  There is a life after death - the true life in eternal.

The graveyard is the altar of each body to be adorned for the resurrection.

When a righteous man’s body dissolves in the dust, the soul will join its Owner -that is God Almighty; that is called Eternal Life.   “He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.  He keeps me from the grave and blesses me with love and mercy.”  (Ps 103)

And again Christ Jesus says, “I am telling you the truth, whoever hears My words and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life, he will not be judged but has already – passed from death to life.”  (John 5 : 24)

But overlooking the life after death,  just to enjoy this worldly life, denying God’s commandments and when you die, the soul will join its owner, that is the Devil – that is life in eternal abyss (hell).

After the death of a devotee of Christ, still the soul needs purification because God cannot accept the soul until it is fully holy.  So the soul is sent for purification in the place called ‘purgatory’.  Once the souls leave this world they cannot help themselves in their purification.  That is why the Holy Bible teaches and urges us to offer mass, sacrificial prayers, fasting, abstinence, almsgiving, acts of mercy, etc. on behalf of the poor departed souls.

However some take it in a very casual manner and ignore to pray for the departed souls of their loved ones.  It is our responsibility to save the souls in purgatory.  There are many families suffering with various misfortunes, hereditary disorders, sicknesses, and lack of prosperity, accidents and unhappiness with reasons unknown.  If such hardships and brokenness is troubling you then surely a cry of a departed soul is behind it.

We are the only mediators given by God to comfort the departed souls and help them to attain eternal life.  Christian love is a covenant relation, which exists even after this earthly life.  The sacrificial sin offerings and prayers done for departed souls especially on ‘commemoration day of the faithful departed’ (i.e. 2nd November) are precious in the sight of God.  If you will save even one soul, that soul will pray for you and save you from all adversities here as well as the soul will assist you in your death bed and your soul will be safe.

The Holy Bible says about the destiny of the righteous.   “But righteous people are protected by God and will never suffer torment.  It is a foolish mistake to think that righteous people die and their death is a terrible death.  They leave us but it is not a disaster.  In fact righteous are at peace.  They have suffered punishment but they have the confident hope of immortality.”  (Wisdom 3)

So let us prepare ourselves to welcome the month of November which is dedicated for the departed souls. It is a noble thing to do sin offerings to save souls, as God wishes that everyone be saved.

“Do not be worried and upset,” Jesus told them, “Believe in God and believe also in Me.  There are many rooms in my Father’s house.  I am going to prepare a place for you….. I will come back and take you to Myself so you will be where I am.”  (John 14)

Let us commit our deeds and prayers to save the souls in purgatory awaiting the Mercy of Eternal Father.

Can you imagine the pain of a father who spent all what he had to build a home for his child receiving the news that he is dead and no more to enjoy that joy of living in that home?   So let us pray for our co-brothers that the perpetual light may shine upon them and may their souls enjoy the eternal life in Father’s home. So that none of the rooms in our Almighty God’s home would remain vacant.

Here is a powerful prayer for souls in purgatory.  (Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the following prayer would release 1000 souls from purgatory each time it is said.  The prayer was extended to include living sinners as well)

Prayer
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.  Amen.

(You may learn the prayer by heart or keep it in your wallet. I request you to join us in reciting the above prayer once a day at least throughout this month for the departed souls.)

With love filled blessings

THE EYES OF MERCY

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the Precious Gift of Mother Mary to us.

The birth of a child is an occasion of great joy, but the fact remains that we are all born out of original sin.

Mary’s soul was the most beautiful design created by God after the Incarnation of the Eternal Word, a most supreme and worthy present of Himself that an Omnipotent God ever did in this world.

There is no doubt that God blessed Mary with His grace as She was chosen to be the Mother of God but even before She was conferred with the Most Holy position She was adorned with the sanctity that was fit for this dignity.

St. Thomas Aquinas teaches us that the Most Blessed Virgin was so full of grace, that from the beginning her beautiful soul belonged to God. Secondly the grace overflowed to her body, as She merited to cloth the Eternal Word with Her most pure flesh. Thirdly, She was filled to think of the benefit of all, so that all might gain from the Salvation.

Let us joyfully witness Her presence in our day to day life as She was the first one to be loved and honored by God.

Let me share two of the many incidents that Mother Mary stood as a rock and guardian in my time of distress during my journey of life.

My elder daughter, born underweight, was kept in the incubator for almost nine days all the while losing her health to various infections. Holding onto Holy Rosary and Novenas of the Blessed Mary, I was granted extra courage to discharge her against medical advice, as it was unbearable to see the little one suffer. I brought the nine day old tiny bundle to my humble abode, laying her beneath my altar, totally surrendering to Mother Mary to take charge of her.
Lifting my cry of anguish and abandoning food and sleep for the next 3 days and 2 nights, my eyes were fixed on the Blessed Virgin and my child. Miraculously my child began to regain her health and soon we were even provided with a home doctor to keep a timely check on her.

Once again with heartfelt gratitude I offered her to Mother Mary, with a prayer that my child be Hers. Till date she is safe in Mother’s hands and able to overcome all trials and tribulations in her life. I offer all my honor and glory to my Beloved Mother.

A complication arose during the fifth month of my second pregnancy. A scan revealed an acute cyst had formed over the foetus which blocked my child’s breath. After few days of observation, my gynecologist suggested as the matter was getting worse there was only one way out; to undergo a surgery.  Asking me to prepare myself mentally, she added that the surgery would be a risky one. They took a special written consent from us stating that they would not be held responsible had the child been injured during the procedure.
Apart from the regular prayers, I switched to recital of efficacious novenas to my Trustworthy Mother.  All my co-staffs too realizing the seriousness of the situation joined me with fasting and prayers. They equipped all the needs be it imparting courage to donating blood etc;

Here too my cry of anguish and distress reached the Queen of Mercy; as I could experience her assistance on the operation table. She kept me safe throughout and moreover the foetus in my womb was safe and sound. That moment I promised the Blessed Mother that my child and myself would be indebted to You and Your Son Jesus Christ throughout our life.

The Merciful Eyes of Mother Mary cannot forsake those who invoke Her.

Dear mothers, I assure you that whatever may be the condition of your children today, offer them to this Trustworthy Mother, she would keep them safe from all misfortunes.

Dear devotees of Christ, let me request you never to leave our Mother at the conclusion of the October month.

She requires our life to spread the message of Salvation; while we need her help every second of our life to overcome the temptations of the evil one.

A word of guidance to all the parents: Pray regularly to Mother Mary for the welfare of your children and family members; imbibe in children the practice of reciting small prayers like (Holy Mary, we love you, be with us); make a habit of gifting your children Rosary Prayer booklets and Rosaries, medals and permit them to carry it along with them devoutly.

You may not find a companion to recite the Holy Rosary; but let me remind you that Mary is always present when you recite it and your Guardian Angel would assist you to complete the recital.

Every ‘Salutation’ of Hail Mary will drive out your sorrows, fear letting in  a peace that only God can provide.

O Mary! Our Tender Mother, Comforter of the afflicted, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.  Amen.

With Love filled Blessings,

Your Sister in Christ

RECONCILIATION
Part I
How wonderful it is, how pleasant, for God’s people to live together in harmony………that is where the Lord has promised His blessings – life that never ends.  (Psalms 133)

During a public ministry service, a mother pulling her nine year old son approached me. “Ever since his birth, I have lost all my peace. Tried sending him to my mother’s place, then admitted him twice to a hostel, but all my attempts to inculcate some discipline in him goes futile. Why did God give me such a huge punishment? I myself have a lot of health issues and many a times, I attempted to end my life regards to the shame and disgrace he gifts me every time.”
I turned my attention towards the little boy, who was all the more in his own world.  Placing my hands and blessing them, I was guided by the Lord to give her an appointment, which gave me a chance to meet the mother personally.
During the conversation, she explained that she was a devotee of Christ, so I casually enquired about her spiritual life.  The very next moment the Savior revealed to me the critical situation of the family.
Dear ones in Christ, the Holy Bible says, “Parents do not treat your children in such a way as to make them angry, instead bring them up with Christian discipline and instruction.”  (Eph 6:4)
Thereafter, I took an opportunity to meet the child alone. After a casual talk, I began to ask him to address his issue. The innocence look mixed with sorrows was overpowering. Suddenly he hugged me tightly, and began to cry severely as he burst out, “I am alone, and I have nobody. I hate myself and each and everyone. Even today mother brought me forcefully to you. You treated me so gently, that I like you. Can I be with you? I promise to obey you and become like you. But I hate my home, my family, my dad. He is addicted to alcohol and brings home a bad set of friends. Once drunk, he beats up my mother and abuses her with bad foul language. She always cries. He does not allow me to do anything I wish. I hate my life. I do not want to obey dad, hence I don’t study.”
When the head of the family is too busy with no time for his wife and children, he is disregarding his God given responsibilities. How do we expect a child to be polite and obedient towards such a father?
Each heart no matter big or small; are totally broken and deep rooted with unpleasant memories, witnessed from childhood.
When parents construct a platform for their own pleasures, not recalling that there is a Heavenly Father, who watches them and to whom they are accountable for each and minute second of their life, time, skills, family, siblings and neighbor.
It is only through the parent’s mutual respect and love that their children would grow in age as well as wisdom and grace.
It is the equal duty of both the father and mother to truthfully accept self and each other; seek God, accepting Him as the mediator of the wedlock and honor Him by obeying His Law. Be sure to keep your gaze fixed on God, all the while drawing all the strength, patience and grace from Him, to carry out the daily responsibilities without fail.
When the child observes his/ her parents obeying the Great Grandpa above (God), willingly the child will be guided by God.
Parents! Do you struggle hard to accumulate richness of this world, dreaming about the day when your child would grow up and attain higher position and make your name prominent? How many times have you secretly planned for his/her future keeping away your life partner, so that the child grows up to fulfill your dreams and desires?
All your ambitious plans and fruits of your hard labor would deplete if you do not care to seek the will of God along with your partner before charting the future plans for His gift to you (your child).
Your name, fame and wealth and all your goodness will be washed out by God himself, because the connectivity is broken.
So reconcile with God today!
Likewise, the fate of those husbands and wives, who have been living together for years yet are unable to accept each other wholeheartedly, beware of the tragedy that awaits you. Each member in a family has a different story to share.
Let me utilize this opportunity to pen certain fundamental truths for the success of life!
Marriage is sacrament that calls for several and countless sacrifices in each step.  It is a life that consists not only of two different individuals who take the promise but the truthfulness and acceptance of two different families. This could be termed as the first and foremost foundation towards the success of marital life.
When a man and woman commit themselves fully and with a contrite heart during the sacrament of matrimony,  God showers certain qualities like acceptance, truthfulness, love, patience, forgiveness, sacrifice, endurance, punctuality, kindness, compassion,  upon the couple during their marital vows which is need for entering into a new mutual sacrificial life.
So if you have failed to reconcile with God prior to receiving this Sacrament, surely there will be failures from your side, such as lack of self acceptance, non-acceptance of your partner, her /his family, child, etc.  Since sin always brings disaster in our life so the web in your heart will bring failures and brokenness in your life.
Can guilt convey joy to a person?  Or can a blameworthy person make her /his partner happy?  A pretender cannot trust others because he is already enslaved to fear, guilt, anxiety and anger.
These attitudes will create misunderstandings and empty out the happiness of the other person.  However good natured and soft spoken a spouse may be, do not forget that if they are subjected to injustice, unfaithfulness etc; gradually the lamp of faith in God would be put off.
That is why Lord Jesus commanded, “If anyone should cause one of these little ones to loss his faith in me, it would be better for that person to have a large milestone tied around his neck and be thrown into the sea.”
With the aid of the above verse from the Holy Bible evaluate yourself!  Review if you are the reason for your life partner’s loss of faith in God? Is your nature of concealing your faults and not being truthful the sole cause for bringing miseries upon your family? The Lord is teaching each one of us that we are answerable for the injustice that we bring upon others.
So if you are ready to correct yourself, you will be free from God’s penalty.  Our loving God is full of mercy and slow to anger.  He showers His promises to thousands of generations but He punishes up to three to four generations.  The Holy Bible says do not delay your repentance thinking that God will not punish.  A stubborn person will be burdened with troubles.  (Sirach 3)
Are you chocked up and suffocating spiritually, mentally and physically?  The Holy Bible says, “Have you sinned, my son? Don't do it again, and pray for forgiveness for what you have already done. Avoid sin as if it were a snake. If you get too near, it will sink its teeth into your soul like a lion, and destroy you. (Sirach 21:1-2)
Today is the day and the right time for you to reconcile with God.  Do not delay any further.
A family counseling could assist you to the right direction and release you from the evil trap.  When you accept God, you would be able to accept yourself and your partner.
“How wonderful and pleasant it is for God’s people to live together in harmony… (Psalm 133)

ST.JUDE- PATRON SAINT OF KLWC

The Holy Bible says, “But you, my friends, keep on building yourselves upon your most sacred faith.  Pray in the power of Holy Spirit, and keep yourselves in the love of God, as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ in His mercy to give you eternal life.  (Jude 1:20-21)

St. Jude Thaddeus, son Cleophas and Mary Cleophas, who was a cousin of Virgin Mary. (John 19:25) and the cousin brother of Jesus Christ (Matt.13:55)

He was rarely invoked in prayer, due to the similarity of His name with another Apostle Judas Iscariot who later betrayed Jesus. As a result, he was very eager to assist anyone who approached him even in the most dire circumstances.  The Name ‘Thaddeus’ in Greek translates to ‘the great-hearted one.” True to his name the world knows him as the ‘Saint of the Impossible.”

He is the author of the ‘Epistle of Jude’ in the New Testament, which warns against the doctrine that tries to pervert God’s grace. Though a relative, the opening of the Epistle, he mentions himself as a servant of Jesus Christ.

It is believed that he was martyred clubbed into insensibility and his head was shattered with a broad axe. Another belief reads that he was crucified on a cross being pierced with arrows. Because of these beliefs, St. Jude’s pictures depict him with a club, arrow and axe.

Today more than ever before, the entire world is invoking and witnessing His intercession to Jesus on behalf of the lost and helpless causes, while St. Jude is eager to show his zeal for Christ by answering our requests.

Let us thank the Almighty God for providing us with powerful saints like, St, Jude Thaddeus, who helps us to enrich our faith in the time of need. Days after I was suggested for a spinal surgery, during a conversation with my sister citing my helplessness and concern as to what if the surgery would not be successful. She suggested me to invoke the help of St. Jude Thaddeus, adding that if my request was fulfilled, I was to publish it, so that others too would be benefited.
Soon I found myself, religiously citing his Novena and requesting him for the success of the surgery, at least for the sake of my children’s future. Where doctors and specialists had given up, the impossible request was answered. Thus began my journey with St. Jude Thaddeus.

Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “Lord, how can it be that You will reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?”

Jesus answered him, “Whoever loves me will obey My teaching. My Father will love him, and My Father and I will come to him and live with him. Whoever does not love me does not obey My teaching. And the teaching you have heard is not mine, but comes from the Father, who sent Me.” (John 14:22-23)

A PRAYER TO ST.JUDE
Most Holy Apostle, St. Jude, friend of Jesus, I place myself in your care at this difficult time. Pray for me; help me know that I need not face my troubles alone. Please join me in my need asking God to send me consolation in my sorrow, courage in my fear and healing in the midst of my suffering. Ask our loving God to fill me with the grace to accept  whatever may lie ahead for me and my loved ones and to strengthen my faith in God’s healing power. Thank you St. Jude for the promise of hope you hold to all who believe, and inspire me to give the gift of hope to others as it has been given to me. Amen.
