WHO IS THE GREATEST
“At that time the disciples came
to Jesus, asking, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” So Jesus called a child, made him stand in
front of them, and said “I assure you that unless you change and become like
children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven. The greatest in the
Kingdom of Heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child. And
whoever welcomes in My name one such child as this, welcomes Me.” (Matthew
18:1-5)
Let’s recite a song
Jesus gave a nice surprise,
to His disciples waiting for a
chance to rise.
To be His Prime Minister, the one
He would select,
The one they knew would certainly
command respect.
Jesus paused, and then He smiled,
For suddenly they tottered up to
Him a child,
And there before the people
scattered all around,
He turned their life’s ambition
upside down.
The
secret of the Kingdom is power to the children,
That’s
the Father’s style;
The
greatest in the Kingdom are those who enter in;
But
the keys are in the hands of a child!
Jesus loved the children near and
very often,
They would gather round to hear
the stories of the Kingdom; about
His Father’s dream
and as He spoke His tender eyes
would gleam.
But His disciples soon complained
How could the Master waste His
time on childish games?
But just when they decided to send the kids away,
He drew them closer and they
heard Him say:
The
secret of the Kingdom is power to the children,
That’s
the Father’s style;
The
greatest in the Kingdom are those who enter in;
But
the keys are in the hands of a child!
I’m sure you’d think its very
strange;
A Kingdom is for kings and
princes to arrange.
Yet, only little people, the
humble and the poor
will find the Father waiting at
the Kingdom door.
Yes only those with eyes to see
The magic and the beauty of
simplicity
Will feel the Father’s presence,
will never be afraid
Will see the hidden wisdom in
what Jesus said.
The
secret of the Kingdom is power to the children,
That’s
the Father’s style;
The
greatest in the Kingdom are those who enter in;
But
the keys are in the hands of a child!
