GOD OF LIGHT

The Holy Bible says, “You Lord, are my light. You dispel my darkness (2 Samuel.22:2)

PART TWO

Continued from the earlier part

A follower or devotee of Christ enlightens others by his good works; leading them out from the deepest valley of darkness by a tiny drop of light. Take for instance a ray of light passing through a small hole in a dark room; it highlights the dust particles in the atmosphere. Similarly, the rays of God’s radiant light can discern even the minute defect of our lives. Those who practice sorcery or other dark activities will surely find it hard to accept God’s light as they are enslaved to their darkened master.  When you are constantly in God’s presence reading and memorizing the Holy Word of God, praying, praising and acknowledging His Promises; His power overwhelms you and His Light tends to brighten your day ; making you refreshed. Continuously confess: Jesus, my Lord and Light of my life; this will assist you in chasing the unknown sorrows, fear, anxiety, confusions, anger etc. Allow God’s Light to penetrate through the darkness of every nook and corner of your life and you will witness Sovereign God’s victory over it. Absolutely nothing can overpower the Heavenly Light of our Lord and His grace can walk you through and lead if you truly believe and make an effort for it. The Holy Bible says, “Wake up sleeper and arise from death, Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:14) This is the only Light that can bring out in you a rich harvest filled with every kind of goodness, righteous and truth. So let us live in hope like people belonging to the light and bring others too out to share in it.

John the Baptist knew that Jesus Christ was the divine light sent by God and so he announced it to the people and his disciples. When Andrew met Lord Jesus he went and told his brother Simon Peter about Him; it was then that Peter went on to meet Lord. Like Andrew, if you can be the lamp that leads others to the Lord; they too will reap bountiful harvest like Peter who was given incharge of the Lord’s sheep i.e God built the church upon him. Converse to someone good about Lord Jesus; encourage and help others by sharing your knowledge about Him. A good work in His name can perform wonders in the coming days. In the entire history of mankind, it is only our Lord Jesus who descended from the heavens to the dark earth to invite sinners to His Light. He said, “I have not come to call respectable people but outcasts.” (Matthew 9:13) He comforts us, “Come to Me all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) He touched and healed the leper (Matthew 8:14);He touched and healed the blind; He allowed the lady who came with great faith to touch His cloak and be cured; He accepted the unholy public making them holy with His presence. He mingled with the rejected and the outcasts; relished a meal with the sinners. He made His Everlasting Light to shine and burn upon them. He sought after the lost in the darkness and on finding, carried them on His shoulders to the Heavenly Father. Wiping out the tears from everyone who approached Him; He comforted those who sought refuge in Him. Look and call out to Him; He is in you and near you. You can hold Him with faith and just a touch gain deliverance. He is the only Lord and your way to Salvation. To comfort the anguish of Martha and Mary; His Life-giving Light delved deep down to the tomb of their only brother; the warmth of His light imparting warmness to Lazarus cold body and granting breathe to his lifelessness.

So dear ones, if you are in any of the above state or even worse than all the above instances do not lose heart! Taste and see His Divine Power, the Holy Spirit in the form of light and fire. As we begin the solemn observance for the season of Lent that invites us, the believers to forty days of fasting, prayer and alms-giving.
Spend time with God as much as possible in reading the Holy Bible, reciting novenas and Rosary to invoke more spiritual assistance to give up adamant habits that has chained you over the years. Rather than the regular meal skipping practice; we suggest that you follow simplicity in your grooming; refrain from talkativeness and take time for self-assessment ; practice calmness; chase egotism. Resolve to alms-giving when the urge for self indulgence arises and have a grip over mortal luxury memorizing that you are soil and will perish into it.
God is faithful in His promises and will fulfill it in His own time; If you are persistent in your spiritual journey, I assure, you will be made worthy to receive the promises before His time. Experience and keep it on a lamp stand to welcome others. So let us resolve to be a pillar of cloud and fire for the entire world!

May the Lord bless you and take care of you. May He be kind and gracious to you. May the Lord look on you with favor and give you peace.

With love filled blessings,

Your Sister in Christ

THE UNTRODDEN PATH

PART II

The Holy Bible says, “You spoke to me, and I listened to every word. I belong to You, Lord God Almighty, and so your words filled my heart with joy and happiness.”  (Jere. 15:16)

Psalmist says, “Lord created the heavens by His command, the sun, moon and stars by His spoken Word.” (Psalms 33:6)
Then God commanded and created the universe. (Gen.1)

The Scripture says that man cannot live on bread alone but needs every Word that God speaks.

Similarly in the Gospel of John, Lord Jesus claims that ‘the Words that I spoke to you bring life-giving spirit.’

Reading Bible and listening to the Word of God brings strength, health and cheerfulness in us. We obtain immense inner healing, deliverance, emotional alterations of mind. In short we partake in a festival of blessings.

It guides us to a new path, totally different from our past because His law is perfect and it gives strength.

His command is trustworthy and just which gives understanding to the mind.

No one can notice their own errors but the fruitful messages deliver us from hidden faults and all evil of sin.

The Holy Bible says, “For through the living and eternal Word of God, you have been born again.” (1 Peter 1:23)

When we believe in His name and accept His teachings He gave us the right to become God’s children.

The one who devotedly reads and meditates the Holy Messages are accepting Lord Jesus. One day Lord Jesus openly declared, “My mother and brothers are those who hear the Word of God and obey it.”

Through the above verse, we understand that Christ Jesus is upgrading the position of those who follow the Holy Word.

During my mission, Lord had added so many devotees to my family. They would voluntarily come to me to share the burden of the mission. People of all ages, caste and creed would join in and as per the will of God; we all would serve for the Kingdom of God under the roof of Lord Jesus.

It was truly an untrodden path.

Jesus said, “How happy are those who hear the Word of God and obey it.”

During the seven years of my public mission and even today, none is sent without being touched by the Word of God.

“I will never turn away anyone who comes to me” these words were proved throughout my mission.

“How happy you are to believe that the Lord’s message will come true.” (Luke 1:45)

Blessed are the ones who believe in the truth and share through their example in life.

‘Happy is the one who reads this book , and happy are those who listen to the words of this prophetic message and obey what is written in this book! For the time is near when all these things will happen.” (Rev 1:3)

ST.THOMAS -THE APOSTLE OF INDIA

Thomas answered Him, “My Lord and My God” (John.20:28)

“One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (called the twin) was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

Thomas said to them, “Unless I see the scars of the nails in his hands and put my finger on those scars and my hand in his side, I will not believe.”

A week later the disciples were together again indoors, and Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands; then stretch out your hand and put it on my side. Stop your doubting and believe!”

Thomas answered Him, “My Lord and My God” (John.20:28)

The deep desire to see his Beloved Master as well as the mutual love of Lord Jesus and St. Thomas is crystal clear here. He was thirsty /eager to meet Lord Jesus and knew that Jesus would appear again to meet him.

As we delve deeper into the Bible we can learn that since Thomas’ love towards The Lord was superior among others, he assured that it was his right to meet the Risen Lord.

Through his words to the other disciples, “Unless I see the scars of the nails in his hands and put my finger on those scars and my hand in his side, I will not believe,” he was courageously claiming that ‘surely my Master will come forgiving and forgetting my absence there’.

He might have invited The Risen Lord by remembering the Precious Wounds.

When Lord Jesus appeared and called Thomas by his name, it proves the individual love of our Lord.

By touching the precious Wound of Jesus, Thomas gained a lot of courage and was filled with God’s Love once again, taking him to the deepest repentance.
Then He confessed His deep faith and was sure that the power of the Resurrected Lord went into his body when he sighed, “My Lord and My God.”

None in the Gospel fell into such deep relation with Lord Jesus. Here we see the mystery of the Risen Lord and with the thirst of Evangelization Spirit, St. Thomas went out into the world to spread Evangelization of the Good News.

The missionary zeal and love for his Master bought St. Thomas to Kodungalore, India in AD 52. He preached about our God and established the communities and churches. While he was at Mylapore he was stabbed to death in AD 72 at Chinnamalai. He was buried at Mylapore and later his mortal remains were transferred to Edessa in Syria and then to Orthona in Italy.

Even today his followers are filled with the grace to suffer and die for Christ. May the Glory of God be worshipped and honored for providing us such strong foundation for our faith.

Praise God for all Martyrs and Saints in Heaven, who are still working with us.

O Lord Jesus Christ, graciously be kind enough to deepen our grace of repentance daily and help us to serve You, our Savior whole heartedly.

St. Thomas, Apostle of India, Pray for us!
