A PRAYER FOR HELP IN TIME OF TROUBLE
Lord, don’t be angry and rebuke me!
Don’t punish me in your anger!

I am worn out, O Lord; have pity on me!
Give me strength; I am completely exhausted
and my whole being is deeply troubled.
How long, O Lord, will you wait to help me?
Come and save me, Lord;
in your mercy rescue me from death.
In the world of the dead you are not remembered;
no one can praise you there.
I am worn out with grief;
Every night my bed is damp from my weeping;
my pillow is soaked with tears.
I can hardly see; my eyes are so swollen
from the weeping caused by my enemies.

Keep away from me, you evil men!
The Lord hears my weeping;
He listens to my cry for help and
will answer my prayer.
My enemies will know the bitter shame of defeat;
in sudden confusion they will be driven away.
(Psalms 6)

May the Lord bless you and take care of you. May He be kind and gracious to you. May the Lord look on you with favour and give you peace.

With love filled blessings,

FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD THROUGH CHRIST
When anyone is joined to Christ, he is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come.  All this is done by God, who through Christ changed us from enemies into His friends and gave us the task of making others His friends also.  Our message is that God was making all mankind His friends through Christ.  God did not keep an account of their sins, and He has given us the message which tells how He makes them His friends.

Here we are, then speaking for Christ, as though God Himself were making His appeal through us.  We plead on Christ’s behalf; let God change you from enemies into His friends.  Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made Him share our sin inorder that in union with Him we might share the righteousness of God.

(2 Corinthians 5:17 -21)

This is the Word of the Lord
Thanks be to God

May the Lord bless you and take care of you. May He be kind and gracious to you. May the Lord look on you with favour and give you peace.

With love filled blessings,

Your Sister in Christ

MORNING PRAYER FOR HELP

I have so many enemies, Lord,
So many who turn against me!
They talk about me and say,
“God will not help him.”

But you, O Lord, are always my shield
from danger;
you give me victory
and restore my courage.
I call to the Lord for help,
and from his sacred hill he answers me.

I lie down and sleep,
and all night long the Lord protects me.
I am not afraid of the thousands of enemies
who surround me on every side.

Come, Lord! Save me, my God!
You punish all my enemies
and leave them powerless to harm me.
Victory comes from the Lord-
may he bless his people.
(Psalms 3)

May the Lord bless you and take care of you. May He be kind and gracious to you. May the Lord look on you with favor and give you peace.

With love filled blessings,

Your Sister in Christ

AN OLD MAN’S PRAYER

PSALMS 71

Lord, I have come to You for protection;
never let me be defeated!
Because you are righteous, help me and rescue me.
Listen to me and save me!
Be my secure shelter and a strong fortress to protect me;
You are my refuge and defence.

My God, rescue me from wicked men,
from the power of cruel and evil men,
Sovereign Lord, I put my hope in You,
I have trusted in You since I was young.
I have relied on You all my life;
You have protected me since the day I was born
I will always praise You.

My life has been an example to many,
because you have been my strong defender.
All day long I praise you and proclaim Your glory.
Do not reject me now that I am old;
do not abandon me now that I am feeble.
My enemies want to kill me;
they talk and plot against me.
They say, “God has abandoned him;
let’s go after him and catch him;
there is no one to rescue him.”

Don’t stay so far away, O God;
my God, hurry to my aid!
May those who attack me
be defeated and destroyed.
May those who try to hurt me,
be shamed and disgraced.
I will always put my hope in You;
I will praise you more and more.
I will tell Your goodness;
all day long I will speak of Your salvation,
though it is more than I can understand.
I will praise Your power, Sovereign Lord;
I will proclaim Your goodness, Yours alone.

You have taught me ever since I was young,
and I still tell of Your wonderful acts.
Now that I am old and my hair is grey,
do not abandon me, O God!
Be with me while I proclaim Your power
and might
to all generations to come.

Your righteousness, God, reaches the skies.
You have done great things;
there is no one like You.
You have sent troubles and sufferings
on me,
but You will restore my strength;
You will keep me from the grave,
You will make me greater than ever;
You will comfort me again.

I will indeed praise you with harp;
I will praise Your faithfulness, my God.
On my harp I will play hymns to You,
the Holy One of Israel.
I will shout for joy as I play for You;
with my whole being I will sing
because You have saved me.
I will speak of Your righteousness all
day long,
because those who tried to harm me
have been defeated and disgraced.

RIGHT WITH GOD

“Now that we have been put right with God, through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. He has brought us by faith into this experience of God’s grace, in which we now live. And so we boast of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory! We also boast of our troubles, because we know trouble produces endurance, endurance brings God’s approval, and His approval creates hope. This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out His love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us.

For when we were still helpless, Christ died for the wicked at the time that God chose. It is a difficult thing for someone to die for a righteous person. It may even be that someone might dare to die for a good person. But God has shown us how much He loves us – it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! By His sacrificial death we are now put right with God; how much more, then, will we be saved by Him from God’s anger!

We were God’s enemies, but He has made us His friends through the death of His Son. Now that we are God’s friends, how much more will we be saved by Christ’s life! But that is not all; we rejoice because of what God has done through Lord Jesus Christ, who has now made us God’s friends.  (Romans 5:1-11)
